Amazing. You can't help but wonder what would be the advantage to having such long spikes in a forested habitat. And then you realize that the world is full of unexpected things.

I am reading what may be the most fascinating book I have ever read:
”An Immense World” by Ed Yong. It is an incredible study on how creatures sense the world they/we live in. I can only read a few pages at a time because my mind just starts to wander off in amazement.
