I usually have a henryanum just about to open around
this time of year, but this year it has been very slow to
develop. Early last week I peeked inside the sheath
and discovered two buds. On Sunday I looked inside
the sheath on the second spike and discovered the
same thing. By now my curiousity had the best of me
and I decided to investigate the third spike, prying it
open with a Q-tip only to discover to my amazement
it also had two buds. Early this morning I noticed
that the buds on the third spike had dried up. I still
have two viable spikes with two buds apiece. I will
post pics when they are a little further along; the stems
are only 1 1/2 to 2 inches above the leaves.
Just wondering how rare this is.
Curiousity killed the paph.
