In some of my Paphs I get this fungus growing in the CHC mix. Any ideas what causes it. Too moist? Is it a problem I need to eradicate and if so how? The plants seem to be growing fine in it.

There are lots of benign and beneficial fungi (as well as a handful of pathogenic ones). This one doesn't look that exciting to me. It will probably dies out soon enough on its own as other species of fungus and bacteria kick in.

David,
I had this problem too, I repotted just to be on the safe side & used a physan bath for the roots.

Hmmmm... I can see this type of fungi on newly purchased plants! Sometimes it is only on the stick that holds the inforescence! I always repot!! But never spay with antifungiside! I have found a product, but says it harms water environments and organisms, so I don't want to use it...!!! :( Good ventilation helps a lot!!!
