First andreettae for me

Like the title says, this is the first one that I got to bloom. The spike was really short at three cm's. Flower is a bit 'off' but hey, got it to bloom so I am happy.

It has been open for three days now, dont think that it will flatten out anymore that it already has.

I've heard people say that andreetae likely wouldn't be a good parent because of the funky shape; I'd have to disagree based on the hybrid photos I saw in Eric's new phrag book. I would say it has a very desirable overall effect based on those few photos. It doesn't look like the shape is strongly inherited, but the color, mellowing and diffusion look very nice.
I'll have to take some pics of the pics (hope Olaf doesn't mind....) and post to get people's opinions
 
Actually the book was $138 including shipping from Germany which I thought was very reasonable. I got it two days after I paid through PayPal
