My Cattleya bowringiana v. coerulea is getting pretty good-sized now. With this blooming there are 64 flowers. I should have taken better care of it, several of the growths are smaller than the others.

The species is native to Belize and Guatemala where it grows along streams and near waterfalls, often on rocks or in gravel. The plant can grow to two feet tall. This "blue" form is getting close to that height and the flowers are 2.5 inches across. I originally got it about three years ago from Peach State Orchids near Atlanta.

Absolutely stunning!

I have one in my greenhouse, too. It, too, is the coerulea variety. Not quite as large as yours, but give it time. The flowers on your plant are very nice with excellent color!

Thanks for sharing it with us!

Best Regards,
Nik
