A 19th century name for the semi alba form of the species bought from the Fischer’s last year.
It has had a full year to establish from crossing the Atlantic so the flowers are much bigger (flat they would be over 7 inches wide by 7 inches tall) and more numerous (4) than last year.
Interesting that the typical mossiae forward lean of the two petals is much less pronounced this year than last.
Plus they have the usual lovely mossiae fragrance.
All in all about my favourite form of my favourite species.
