Solomon Islands Quake

This has been big news over on the reef forums, not sure if any of you guys were aware of the extent of the damage.

I've got a good number of corals from the Solomon's, hopefully they aren't all gone in the wild.

I saw the same thing and I couldn't believe it!!!

Coral reefs just literally pushed out of the ocean.

I saw the news on Manhattan Reefs.....Solomons are one of the biggest sources of aquacultured corals...That business can recover, as those types of SPS corals grow fast after fragging I'm sure,...but the natural reefs being lifted 10 feet above sea level...that is a disaster. Take care, Eric

Awful, awful news.

On a little bit lighter note, has anyone else read The Sex Lives of Cannibals? It's a really amusing book about living in the Solomon Islands.

That is horrible, the poor ecological balance, gone. The poor people. Strangely I think I did hear about this on the news, but they didn't give it much attention, had to get to hollywood gossip I guess. Thanks for posting about this.
