For those who use inorganic potting mix, do you still add oyster shells for those species that like them?

Yes, JP Norton said calcium additive is essential for Phrags.

This might be a dumb question but does the crushed oyster shell (or whatever lime supplement), interact with the air-water movement in the pot? Or if the media is very course, will it all settle to the bottom?

Since it's a top dressing I guess it dissolves into the mix through watering.

My plants seem to be doing well in MAB. All are in self watering pots with a wick and really help me to stay ahead of watering

También cambio cada año el sustrato en mi Paphiopedilum e incluyo carbón vegetal en la mezcla, que si bien se sabe que retiene sales, cambiarlo cada año no les daña de ninguna manera. Más bien les gusta mucho.

Quantas plants tiene, y de que es esta mescla?

En Tailandia visité el que creo es el vivero más grande, por tamaño y variedad de plantas, y es Phrao Orchids. Tuve plantas de otro gran cultivador de Paphiopedilum, Wicharuj Slipperorchids, que tiene todos sus paphiopedilum con este sustrato y creo que son de muy buena calidad.
