Phragmipedium X Roethianum is a natural hybrid of P. longifolium X P. hirtzii, the diference between this and P. hirtzii is the staminode that in Roethianum has hairs and true P. hirtzii doesn't.
I have this one many years ago from Ecuagenera (1998) labeled as Phragmipedium longifolium but of course when flowers opened the true ID was revealed.
I heard many years ago in the internet that these hybrids were sold in Europe and even in the USA as P. hirtzii. Some of these hybrids are small plants also like hirtzii.
This one I have maybe had as pod parent a P. longifolium as plant is larger like a longifolium is.
Hope this helps.
