I assume you mean where the white tips are coming from. I think it is the fischeri influence.

Waunakee Sunset seem to vary quite a bit. I've seen a few photos (and one in person) of bi-coloured ones

Cool! Usually you see the white toward the center of the flower, not on the edges. Maybe you could try to breed for a picote Phrag.

This is neat. A red Phrag with white petals would be nice to have. Do you think that selfing this could bring out more of the white in some offspring? The pouch has lots of interesting "windows" too. Cool!
