I was going through some old photos this evening and found this pic of a P. venustum that I got from Ray Rands sometime in the early 90s. Sadly, the plant died 8-9 years ago--these things happen when your life enters that phase where you change diapers more than you water plants and a nap seems more important than repotting.

The flowers, as you can see, appeared to be standard P. venustum, but the foliage was plain green, without the faintest trace of tessellation. In this photo, you can see a couple of leaves, slightly out of focus, behind the flower on the left.

Has anyone else ever run across a P. venustum with similar foliage?

I think if you look closely there will be some faint tessellations somewhere. It’s within the parameters of leaf variation within the species. I have seen some similar to this.
