This had been in bloom for more than a month. I took this pic right before it wilted. It was pretty. There's just a slight problem with the staminode tucked in. I hope it blooms nicer next time.

Sure. Although, you may want to experiment with s/h and hydroton with a plant/plants that are inexpensive or divisions of ones you own. When I first started with s/h some years ago I used plants that were easily replaceable, no-names etc. so that if I didn't like the results I wouldn't be too upset.
