This Paph. Hsinying Almasum is one of my favorite Paphs, because its big and its always in bloom.

Its a hybrid of Paph. Alma Gevaert x Hamana Makusum, registered by Ching Hua in 2001. I bought it at Home Depot about five years ago. Flowers are almost 15cm (5.75 inches) across. It has at least one flower on it about nine months of the year. The one on your left has been open two months, the one on the right 1 month, and the one in the middle is just opening still.

The parentage background of the plant is albino varieties of 50% lawrenceanum, 35% callosum, and 15% sukhakulii.

Very nice indeed Ed. 'Homey Despot' looks like a good canidate for growing on as a speciemen plant! The suk is lost in this clone. It must be a couple generations back, huh?
