Wanted to share my new bessaes from Ecuagenera. These are all divisions and have really nice roots. The big one turned out to be two divisions!.

One is out of bloom the other two are in bud/spike.

Hi Justin
Nice plants.

Can I ask why do you buy besseae plants from South American breeders when the best and most selected besseae plants are in the US?
Do you want new genetics?

I ask this question because I do the opposite.... usually I got my besseae plants from the US...

they look very nice. I am definitely getting one from Ecuagenera too.
Are you growing them in moss?

Nice looking plants.

Line bred besseae have a very nice look, that I like, and judges at shows like it. In the US, besseae line breeding is into the F6 to F9 generations. They no longer look like 'wild' plants. The plants from South America were selected from wild plants and most likely are no more than F1 or F2 from the wild type. The wild look is less tailored, but it has its own charm. I have some of each. (and lately have not been growing either very well)
