Here’s my latest from Marilyn…came in spike. I didn’t get a division this time around. Seems to be growing well. I started using Kelpak based on Ray’s suggestion and everything is loving it (especially the houseplants!) I have another from Sam and recently realized that they are they same so at some point, I’ll be combining the pots. The spike on that one blasted, but the plant was roughed up a bit in shipping right before the sheath came up so who knows…

I just realized this is in the wrong section…if anyone wants to move it to the Mexi forum that’d be great.

Anyway, I potted these guys up together in my new stone pot. The smaller one from Sam had three plants with good roots but separate, so I was able to add them to the larger plant easily. Great roots on everything, best I’ve had on a Mexi; thanks Kelpak!

The pot worked great for the stolons and I was able to get most of them under mix; the sloping sides of the pot worked great for them. Wish I had a little more growing room, but we will see how it goes…

They look happy. I wonder if this species naturally have relatively few roots. The one I grew for over 10 years never developed many roots.
I think so! And usually shallow of course….I was really surprised that they all had new growth and the big one, the roots had kept the size of the pot; had filled in nicely. I followed Ray’s Kelpak advice for the first few months and I’ve been using it ever since off and on.
