Maxillaria elatior

A couple years back I was working the sales table of a good friend, and apparently I was pretty obvious about my love of this species someone had in a display because the next day he surprised me with a piece of his as a thank you. This one blooms all the time, but is still by no means full grown.

I grow it intermediate and humid in a mix of Growdan GrowCubes and Hydroton in a 6" Air Cone pot kept constantly very damp.

Hi Jon,

Very lovely!

I have 2 plants that I separated 2 years ago. They are about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide! They grow like weeds!

The flowers are very beautiful!
