Hello,

Does anyone know how often should one change the fluorescent T8 they have??? Well, I know it depends on usage, but what is the average change rate??? I am asking about orchid growing and aquariums! I have used mine (simple and gro-lux ones) approximatelly 10 hours a day, for 9 months! Is it true that if old, they not only have reduced performance but they consume more electricity??? Is the difference big and worrying?? Thank you anyway!!!

I do know that many folks recommend changing T12's annually, but I'm not sure about T8's.

I'd like to also ask if anyone knows how often one should change out the T5 bulbs (I think I heard they were good for more than a year, but I'm not certain about that).
