First time trying Paph pollination, I crossed my select plant of
Paph sanders Pride "Krull Smith" x Rothschildianum "crystelle" fcc/amaos
with several paphs I had in bloom at the time.. one of 4 seems to have taken?
is with very dark paph billy cardalino x (mirabelle x maudiae)
Does this cross have any promise? plant is strong, had 5 flowers and is multigrowth.. should I keep it going to practice/learn - and see what it blooms out like in 5-6yrs:poke:

Could be excellent... at least the good ones.

I have no doubt about the cross you made. Should be very interesting.
Never seen such a dark Billy Cardalino cross. The dark gene will flow into the progeny.

Hi, thanks, will let it "mature' if it wants to and keep going. it is staying green on top of a spike that the others turned black..
Since I tried with a "wekivia springs", a susan booth Kanokaoe am/aos
& a phillippense alford am/aos and this is the only one that seems to have
taken of the 4, either I need to learn more on the pollination technique and
possibly timing? (probably) or these two "liked each other".. and was meant to be.. maybe will get some really big multifloral long petalled black flowers?
so a year wait?? but why do orchids take as long to gestate as a horse??

Whew thanks.. will check though the other postings about timing, collecting it packaging & where to send it.. thanks.
