Some Phragmipedium fischeri just deflasked. The second photo is of some I prepared earlier, they've been out for around 2 months. These are grown outside in a shade house in Adelaide. No elaborate heating, cooling and humidifying. The mix is 1 part sphagnum, 2 parts bark and a handful of shell grit (calcium carbonate) per 1L of mix. They are watered overhead everyday, and receive a weak fertilising 2-3 times per week. It was 41.6°C on the weekend, and humidity was around 15%, I'm thinking they didn't care :)

When it's that hot, they get watering in the morning, and in the evening. I don't sit any Phrags in water, so I need to water frequently. It's not much of a problem for me, as I'm outside watering all the epiphytes on mounts anyway.
