I haven't seen these orchids growing wild on my property before so this is a real treat to see! I love seeing orchids thrive in the wild. They are growing in almost complete shade in the woods surrounded by tall trees and shrubs. The flowers sort of look like a cymbidium to me. It has a lot of buds on the top when you look closely at it. When I looked on the ground, I noticed it had bloomed before because it had a dried out stem with two seed pods.

No, it doesn't. It gets its nutrition from mycorrhizal fungi in the ground rather than using photosynthesis.
