Cattleya Oconee Circle ‘Mem Frank Fordyce’

This was a division from Michael Sinn a few years ago. Possible a secret weapon in Frank’s mini catt color breeding program. Huge overlapping petals and egg yolk large lip. NS 13 cm, larger than any other awards of this grex. Cross is Circle of Life x Oconee. First flower day one second pic was day two (more dark pink). Unfortunately there are yellow streaks in petals, making it a fatal flaw for judging.

That's a powerhouse colour combination!

A pity with the yellow streaks in the petals - would that be a permanent feature of the clone or is it just a trait of the actual flowering?

Well, the pollen will be distributed to 3 different breeders to continue the wonderful shape and introduce new color variations. CoL is indeed a wonderful parent Oz.
