Granny smith apples (tart) are great in apple pie! They're green apples. I like to use a combination of a few apples when I make my pies!

These flowers have got not only an excellent colouration but also stance.
Furthermore you must be lucky with the weather, green lawn and foliage and flowers in the open - a dream here in Germany with -10° C in the morning (at least in our region).

I took the photo late last Summer & it just finished blooming. I should have taken it to Cincinnati to have it judged but I didn't. I hope it will be in bloom at the end of March when we are hosting the Spring MAOC. If not I'll try to get it to the Judging Center the next time it blooms.
