I have an alocasia, the black velvety one with the white veins, that has seed pods! Has anyone started them from seed? I have some rockwool cubes, would that be a good option? Anything special?

We get some at work to sell, though think they come in as rooted plugs rather than seed. We had some beautiful test elephant ears we were trialing for a breeder, I have three at work remaining

When I did a search I did come up with that link. They talk of red berries & the seeds are in them....
may be the type that I have doesn't get red berries?
I have 3 pods, snipped & opened the oldest one, if those aren't seeds I don't know what they are! I have nothing to lose by trying!

Hmm, I don't know what they were rooted in, and sometimes trial plants like these tropicals may come in bare-root
I think like jack in the pulpits and things like that have a 'berry', and you may be able to plant the whole thing
