A bit of a tease

This is a triploid Fritz Schomburg made with kovachii ‘terminator ‘ and the amazing tetraploid besseae ‘robs choice’ sending up a spike.
Bought from OL last year and the first time I’ve flowered one of these.
Looks promising!

Note the heavy anthocyanin pigmentation on the outer leaf sheath close to the bud. Hopefully it should be dark.
I’ve seen a photo of a flower on a mature plant from this cross which is just astonishing!

The largest one is in bud and has two growths,
