5" bud on Stairway to Heaven

Stairway to Heaven (popowii X wallisii) by Jason Fischer
I have never had a bud this long before. It now measures 5 inches long and is still growing. I think it should open VERY soon, at least I hope so. The suspence is killing me. I measure it every day.

Looks as though it will be ready to crack soon, Marilyn. Look for condensation inside the bud, that always seems to be a sure sign, in my experience. Pretty cool, these long-petaled Phrags!
