As the situation in Spain in worsening by moments, I wanted to post some infos in the Political Views Section. Obviously I've lost permission to do so. It's only for this reason that I opened this thread here, where it doesn't belong and will be deleted. I assume this is the 'experiment'. :(...

Completely unnoticed under a big basket there is a new spike on Paph.Berenice 'Lula da Silva' . Unnoticed and unexpected, as the plant was potted after last years flowering. Won't be long now.

    Dendrobium ...

Dendrobium speciosum flowering now Big surprise this morning: first spike ever of a Dendrobium speciosum, bought two years ago and still small. I hope it really is this one, as I've got a few orchids that resulted in other species when they had their first flower.

    Dietes

Has been flowering for months now with short lived, single flowers on long spikes, successively producing new buds: Dietes iridioides. Something like a South African walking iris, which is preparing flowering right now. As it is not a commonly known plant I wanted to share with you.

While looking for news from esa (Mars Orbiter should be making photographs) I found this. That is where I live. Didn't know that we were so far away fro the usa. :rollhappy: The picture is older than 40 years. Those mountains are covered with forests now. Why 'on earth' do some people in the...

    ex Howeara

Howeara (Leomesezia) Lava Burst by Secun, on Flickr A difficult candidate for the camera. Only with an extra of light there is a chance to get an decent image, with nearly true colours. Very dark raspberry with underlying orange markings. 22mm x 16mm across and a light scent.

Need id confirmation for cf. supardii

Paphiopedilum ¿supardii? by Secun, on Flickr Is this Paphiopedilum supardii? As I have never seen a P. supardii live before, I'd like to know if someone can positively confirm that this is supardii and not a hybrid of supardii. I am quite confident that it is the species. If you need any...

As the rover 'curiosity' is slowly climbing up Mount Sharp (Aeolis Mons) it is now reaching a first little cliff - if it does succeed to driver further, the photographs from Gale Crater will be impressive! There are some 300 new images every day. Looking at the landscape I wonder if there...

    Migrating from yahoo to ...?

Yahoo (and flickr) are being absorbed by oath. While reading the old/new services and privacy policies etc. I got the idea that the best would be using this chance and changing completely to another provider, who takes privacy seriously. Any ideas where to go? Thanks.

    Dendrobium bracteosum - magenta form

Dendrobium bracteosum by Secun, on Flickr A bit disappointed. Got this plant after I saw the splendid plant Dot had shown in this forum. Not spectacular at all unless you get near. Perhaps it will improve with all flowers and all spikes open (three more to come), there has been lots of...
