    Ludisia discolor and Macodes petola

Two fine examples of what Littlefrog Rob has to offer. I got these from him in November, and they seem to be enjoying themselves! Here's what they looked like when I got them:

Blc Apolo Moon 'Nana' and Sedirea japonica

Two fun and very fragrant ones. My mother-in-law bought these for me last week at Hoosier Orchids when we visited them (they live a few miles away from Hoosier). As you can tell, I have a great mother-in-law. :)

    Paph lowii 'Princehouse' x sib

Here's the blooms from the first spike, Feb of this year: And here's from the second, just opening now: It's probably nothing special in the lowii world, but I likes it. :)

    Paph St Swithin

My wife got me this as a birthday present earlier this week. Doesn't have a clonal name on the tag.

    Paph lowii bloom frequency?

My paph lowii just finished blooming last week, so I cut the spike back. It's a two growth plant, and both are pretty good sized. Well, lo and behold, the other growth now has a spike just beginning to emerge. Obviously I'm thrilled, but I just wanted to know, how "normal" is this? Do...

    Scott's modest slipper collection

Paph lowii spike progress...not too much longer! Paph Landmark 4 Phrags on the left, 4 Paphs on the right. 2 of each in spike at present. Not too bad! They are: Phrag longifolium, La Vivace Epicure Phyllis D Turner, besseae, and Cape Sunset Paph Landmark, Vert x Treasure...

    P. lowii spike

Lien's not the only one with things in spike! I just discovered this yesterday...what a pleasant new year's surprise!

Blc Momilani Rainbow 'The Gypsy' HCC/AOS?

Hi all, I bought this a few months ago, and it just bloomed. It's pretty, but not what I expected at all. Is this just some unexplained variation, is the flower still in need of maturation, or have I been had? link to what I thought I was getting: click here

    Photography talk

now I know I'm hardly an expert photographer, but I like to think that every now and then I take a good picture, and I at least know the basics of photography. that said, here's an example for lien. taken with a Canon digital elph 600, digital macro setting, autofocus, no flash, iso 200, f...

    New PrimeAgra

I just got my shipment of new PrimeAgra from Ray, and promptly potted 2 plants in it. I also got one plant from him that was already in new PrimeAgra. So far it seems to live up to the claims (less dust, smoother, more uniform consistency, less floaty). Further thoughts to follow once I have...

Anyone know anything about Epi ilense problems?

If so...help! I just noticed this on the apical leaf this morning...but just involving the tip, which I trimmed. When I got home, it had spread to involve most of the leaf. The brown part is very limp. The rest of the leaves are fine. Any advice?

    Masdevallia Snow Cone

Masdevallia Snow Cone, a warm-tolerant hybrid. I can't really take credit for the bloom since I bought it in bud this last week, but I think it's one of my better pictures.

    Leaf? Sheath? Something else?

There's something going on in my lowii...is it a sheath? a new leaf? something else? I know, I know, I need to be more patient...but in the meantime, I'd like to hear people's thoughts. It is growing, by the way, so I doubt I'll have to wait too too long to find out what it is.

The most species in a hybrid?

Just out of curiosity...I know some of the complex hybrids get pretty crazy, but what's the highest number of species that has been used? Just for fun, someone should make one that incorporates as many as possible. It'd probably look like a beast and be infertile and a pain to grow, but I'd...

Which should I get, fischeri or schlimii?

I can only get one of them, and am having trouble deciding which I like more. They're both small, fuzzy, pink phrags, and both are the same price and in spike. Visually I think I like the fischeri a little better, but I've never seen either in person, so it could just be deceptive photography...
