Hi Everyone,

I know this is an odd request, but I am looking to purchase a white complex paph that will be in bloom in late September.

I know it's completely the wrong season for complexes, but I'm getting married in late September and would like to have one for our table for the reception. The rest of the tables will have to be content with standard white Phals.

Also, if anyone has any recommendation of where to look for a bulk purchase (~20) of Phals in the Maryland area, please let me know.

Thanks!

Not an odd request at all. There are often complex white paphs available for bloom in late september. I should know as I've often bought many at the National Capital Orchid Society (NCOS) fall show which happens Columbus Day Weekend. http://www.ncos.us/ncos/fallshow.htm

I am particularly fond of the "In-charm white" crosses (like "In-charm grace [in-charm white x niveum]).

As for vendors of both white complex paphs and white phals, in the DC area, try (they all sell at the NCOS fall show):

Arbec Orchids
13945 Cherry Ln, Queen Anne, MD 21657
410-634-1281
(he sells at the Easton Market on Saturdays:
Easton Market Square open Wednesday through Friday 10 AM - 6 PM & Saturday 8 AM - 4 PM. 137 N. Harrison Street, Easton. Merchants featured include: ...; Arbec Orchids; ....

Woodstream Orchids (their greenhouse is in Huntingtown, MD; they specialize in paphs and phrags):

Orchid Enterprise: http://www.orchidenterprise.com/
(they are in Alexandria, VA; they sell an In-charm white complex cross: http://store.orchidenterprise.com/paph-emerald-sea-x-in-charm-white.html)

Floradise Orchids (they do orchid flower arrangements)
http://www.floradise.com/
(though they are located in Gordonsville, VA, they sell in the farmer's market in DC twice a week: http://www.floradise.com/find_us.html
