Tillandsia ericii

8 years ago I bought this Tillandsia as a small plant - about 6 or 7 cm in diameter - and the vendor praised the deep golden colour of the flowers. During the years it grew to a respectable size of about 35 cm in diameter and is flowering for the first time and I must say.....the vendor was right.
