I don't know if this question has already been answered, but when it comes to naming hybrids, does it matter which plant is the pollen parent and which one is the pod parent?
Fx. I own a hybrid, Phragmipedium Andean Tears (wallisii x kovachii)
Normally, the pod parent is mentioned first and then the seed parent, so wallisii must be the pod parent and kovachii the pollen parent?

Would the offspring still be an Andean Tears if the pod parent was kovachii and wallisii the pollen parent?

No and Yes.
The taxonomists mess things up as it is, can you imagine different names for technically the same cross, ssshhhh... let's not give them any ideas!

It doesn't matter which is pod and which is parent, the name is the same. The protocol is the pod parent is first and the pollen parent second. Rose is correct.
