Phalaenopsis LD's Bear King x Phalaenopsis corningiana

I got this from Peter Lin (Big Leaf) last year. I really like the this, I did not expect the flowers to be as large as they are. I also like that this clone isn't completely solid red, which many seem to be based on photos I've seen online. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. It's very floriferous.

I actually purchased this for the scent. I love the artificial grape smell like grape candy or grape soda of Phal. corningiana. Unfortunately, this one doesn't really smell much like that. It's more cinnamon candy / sweet-spicy than grapey. The fragrance is very strong around mid-morning, and then it goes away completely by early afternoon, but it's strong enough to fill the plant room and sometimes I even catch a whiff from the hallway when I walk by.

Of course you got it from Mr. Lin. His plants
are the best and this beauty illustrates that
very well. Are you growing it mounted or
    potted?

That's pretty. Would like to see it in daylight.

You're in luck. It's finally daytime here.

I don't think my camera really captures the depth of colors and it definitely doesn't capture that scent.
