This is (Virgo 'Sabatino' x Steele Magnolia 'Sabatino'); an inverse of the cross as registered with the RHS.

It's a 'supermodel' kind of beauty: gaunt, hollow-cheeked, and malnourished. This one lost its roots after repotting, but I only noticed when the bud was about to open, so I let it bloom to get an idea of what it'll look like. I'll be cutting the bloom off in a few minutes here to help the plant preserve its strength and recover. Hopefully, if it makes it, later blooms will be nicer.

Although, blooming like this, it does kinda look like a skull, which is pretty metal.

Click through to get to the big sizes.

Well, if it makes it, but doesn't fill out on later bloomings, I'll just name the clone 'Jolly Roger'.
