Léveilé sings Frederic

Claude Léveillé, one of the most talented French canadian songwriter died last night at the age of 78.
His most famous song is Frederic, as he recalls the good times of his youth and the friends he had then, arguing politics and everything else around the family table on sundays. Then everyone went away, got married and lost touch. And Papa got older and every one got older. The poetry is wonderful, if you can understand French.

Claude Léveillé was really a genus. We will miss him so much. A lot of people don't know that he wrote some songs for Edith Piaf.

I am in tears too.

The song Frederic is in hommage to Frederic Chopin, another great Romantic pianist who was his life-long idol.
Interesting quote from Léveillée during a TV interview: ''All my life has felt like a dream, ever since I was a boy. And it still feels like a dream right now on this stage. I think I'll wake-up when I die.''
