Cypripedium reginae in flower right now - meristem plants from root tips. Not mine, but rather a friend. He has around 30 plants. Impossible? Maybe not.

I'm impressed. That soil appears to contain organic material. I'm suprised they didn't end up as fungus!

Eric, the material you are seeing is Soil Perfector, a baked clay product that is used to lighten heavy soils or in this case is being used as part of the growing substrate and I believe a top dressing.

Articles are being/have been published. I'll be able to tell you more soon hopefully.
