Mine in bloom.. Sorry I don't have a close-up pic.. My 'designated photographer' finds it difficult to photograph the upside down flowers...

It is a native Malaysian terrestrial species. Grown similar to Phaius, but needs a rather long rest when not growing. similar to Habenaria culture, I think.

I love this one. I had one for 5 years and it bloomed every year. However, last year I killed it. Must have overwatered!

Peter, I don't think that a bit of overwatering, even in its resting period, would do it much harm. I used to not know anything about its culture. I bought it as a bunch of old backbulbs quite cheaply and treated it as any other terrestrial. I even left it in the heavy rain during its resting period but it did not die. But I never know when it will decide to grow. So now I leave it unwatered until the new growth emerges... You should get another one..

Joanne, yes, it does have a light citrusy fragrance...

Dot, its not large. The whole plant reaches about 6-8 inches high maximum (plus leaves). BTW, it blooms semi-sequentially, with 3-5 flowers open at any time...
