got this as a generous gift from a society member at our annual auction. It initiated 5 inflorescences before I left town for a week, and upon my return one blasted, one bloomed, and 3 are in limbo looking just as they were before I left, likely due to infrequent watering from watering schedule misunderstanding b/w me and neighbor. Oh well, that's what I get for going to conferences. Anyway, I'm surprised it almost bloomed well here, although we've had a remarkably cool and wet July.

these are nonresupinate flowers so I'm showing them upside down, sorry if the unnatural pose offends anyone

Sooo cool. There have been a number of Dockrillias at the Longwood show brought in by Ballantyne & Doran, but ive never seen the cucumerina. Thanks!

I have no idea, I was surprised myself. It's mounted on cork, watered 1 or 2 times daily, bright light, grows under Cirropetalum pulchellum. dries b/w waterings. only thing I can think is we've had some wierd weather here. hot and dry june followed by a cool and wet july. maybe the unpredictable weather scared it into blooming?
