This is ('Radiance' x 'Comet') a crossing of Broughtonia sanguinea and Cattleya aurantiaca. It is just coming back from a near death experience :rolleyes: When mature it can have a spike with 10 flowers held regally above the leaves.

I almost lost quite a few Catts with a major scale outbreak that had gone unnoticed for a period of time

Ahh too bad Ron, I think scale & catts go hand in hand..I think because they can hide so well in the dried sheaths..the same with mealies & paphs..they congregate in the leaf axils ,breeding like there is no tommorrow...:mad::fight:
