I just got back from a botanizing trip to the northern part of Newfoundland. I was amazed to find a Calypso still in bloom! In fact, this species is only known in 3 sites on the Island, so it is a rariety to begin with.

Calypso bulbosa is a lovely orchid and this one is a really good coloured one. As I read the var. armericana grows in Newfoundland so perhaps it's one.
