Bog Report

I visited a bog in NH to see the White Fringed orchids and the Calapogons. The Calapogons were out of bloom, except one hidden plant that was still in bud. Here are some pictures of what I saw.

I had to take a pciture of this snake. I named her Big Momma and she lives in my rock garden with her babies. She's very beautiful and very long and fat. I'm glad to see she's being good at keeping the pest populations down!

She's now my little sweetheart!

Cool! I miss visiting northern bogs, although Hokkaido is full of them. Was this a true quaking bog?

Great bog! I miss having one behind our house, it was always such a thrill to go and visit a completely different little micro-environment.

Thought so. I have one that hangs out here, sometimes near the house, sometimes near the pond (or that could be another one). I am pleased they are around.
