So the experiment with growstones appears to be a success.
I repotted this plant last September into a 50:50 mix of growstones and leca.
This is the first flowering since then.
Two spikes. The first flower on the other stem died when it received a bit too much sun one afternoon.
This flower is not quite fully open and is 14cm across.
First up for Eric is a plant shot.

This plant sits in the same water as La Hougette which grows in rockwool and Don Wimber that grows in bark. All do equally well.
They all get fed low level rain mix at every feed.

Yay ' less is more'.

Sorry Eric,

David

Don;'t be sorry David. My patent lawyers have been wanting an overseas trip for years! :p Yay bessease hybirds!
If you think that's less fertilizing, we water every day but only fertilize once a week. Your water must be great; the foliage looks amazing!!

This clone makes me want a plant of this hybrid! Incredible, and I really love your growstones chronicles...

Eric,
You water every day? Wow you must spend half your life round the sink!
Mine are watered about once a week. Maybe a bit more in summer.
The growstones definitely added an X factor that was missing before.
The leaves are deeper green and much bigger than before.

Living in an apartment is very dry.We have 500 orchids and we use RO water. We actually water multiple times a day especially the mounted plants and those with aerial roots.
