    Cattleya purpurata coerulea striata (Werkhauseri)

It’s purpurata season as seen in recent posts! I have my blue striata in bloom, up to 5 flowers on one spike. Very commanding height and stature. NS 15.5 cm. Also grown by DavidB. The coerulea variety is named the Werkhauseri, though it’s more appropriate as a horticultural variety.

    Cattleya purpurata flamea ‘Canaima’s Amigos’

One of my darkest purpuratas beautifully flowered by DaveB. The lip is the darkest rubra type lip I have ever seen. NS 15 cm. Was passed at judging today because it needed more flowers. The average was 4-5 flowers per inflorescence. Next year then!

    Cattleya (syn. Laelia) purpurata werkhauseri

A steel blue lip on this purpurata werkhauseri that contrasts nicely with the white tepals. Light fragrance. Another of my plants at David’s. Still needs another year or two to show its potential. I might name him ‘Steele Blue’ lol.
