Blooming after 2 years, this time with two flowers! And as usual it was ignored till the last minute, hidden behind some large cattleyas so it wouldn’t blast. Works every time lol. A little nick on the left part of dorsal but hey it opened! Second bud to come. NS 9 cm

This species likes to blast in my conditions. I noticed that if I ignore it, it will develop nicely and open. If I even so much as to look at it, it will spontaneously abort. So I pretend it’s not there lol. And voila! It opened! Named after one of my favourite films.

Here are two acmodontums in bloom currently ... one huge beast at 11 cm NS and the other petite beauty at 8 cm. Three more sisters on their way.
