    Polystachya longiscapa

Actually, it is. I think the tip got damaged, and it made the secondary spike close to the tip.

    Polystachya longiscapa

When P. longiscarpa was described, I believe the author was comparing P. longiscarpa to Polystachya dendrobiflora (= P. tayloriana = P. flexuosa), and said P. longiscarpa is a larger version of P. dendrobiflora. So you have a good insight! P. dendrobiflora is also an early-branching Polystachya.

    Polystachya longiscapa

I didn't think about It, but it looks similar to some Dendrobium. I went to look at the relationships, and interestingly they are fairly far apart.

    Polystachya longiscapa

I got this plant from Afri orchids in 2019. It is an interesting species because it is one of the "early-branching" Polystachya spp., and it is a narrow endemic species. The inflorescence is kind of too long from my grow tent. Here is a link to my blog post.

    Sophronitis pygmaeas: A Color Portrait

Floralia has it (not flava) listed for $25 for Redland.

    Paph mastersianum temperature tolerance

I'm growing mines at the cool end of intermediate temp; 29/18C (84/65F) in the summer and 21/13C (70/55F) with high humidity. They don't grow particularly fast (took 6 years to the first bloom from deflasking), but I got a fairly high survival rate.

    Angraecum viguieri

The stem of my plant is about 25cm long, but I'm guessing it probably could have flowered much earlier if it had had a right cue. Angela, yes, it is fragrant. It is fairly pleasant, but not as good as others, I think.

    Angraecum viguieri

I got this from Louisiana Orchid Connection 8 years ago. It kept growing, but didn't flower until this year. I changed a couple things, and some of the changes might have induced the first bloom. Link to my blog post.

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum

I'm wondering if it is the case. I'm growing them at the light level similar to other mottled leaf paphs. I wonder if they prefer even lower light. But they seem to grow even with the pale color, so I haven't changed it. I don't do anything special, other than the fact that I'm growing them...

    Paphiopedilum mastersianum

I've been growing them for 6 years from the flask which I got from Troy Meyers. Actually, this is derived from a SlipperTalk collaboration between Rick L and Uri. For the first generation, Rick managed to make some of them flower in 3 years. My plants are the grand-kids of Rick and Uri's...

    Phalaenopsis mariae

That's a bummer, but they are both beautiful, though!

    Polystachya galeata

I think so. I might be wrong but I believe all species of this genus has no-resupinate flowers.

    cattleya labiata rubra

    Beautiful!

    Phalaenopsis mariae

Yes, it is easy to break since it makes long flowering stems which extend between neighboring pots, and the stem snaps easily. It is interesting that yours are flowering at the same time, I guess mine flowered pretty late this year. Yes, it seems to be able to grow at the cool end of...

    Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi fma. chattaladae

Angela, mine used to be mounted, too. But under my condition, it grows better potted. It is potted in just medium size barks, and it is in an intermediate temp area (65/80F in the summer, and 60/70F in the winter).

    Phalaenopsis mariae

I got this plant as a small seedling (probably just out of flask) from Olympic Orchids 10 years ago. It has been a reliable bloomer. Unfortunately, I broke 30-40% of buds while I was extracting it from the grow tent jungle for re-potting. Dissected flower photos are in my blog post.

    Tolumnia sylvestris

Yes, the top growth is weird. It's from the weird set up. The shoot grew above the light (since the main plant is growing at a touching distance from the light, and started to etiolate toward another light source which is at a higher location.

    Dendrobium papilio

    Beautiful!

    Rhipidoglossum xanthopollinium 'Big Sky Glass'

I got this plant from Botanica about 5 years ago. It grows all over, and it was invading into other plants, so I finally went through the tangled mess and slapped it onto a new cedar shingle about a month ago (that's why it looks unnatural on the mount). I noticed the tiny flowers a couple...
