    Crooked Bellatulum

I’m with BrucherT, love these and looks great as is. I often display pendulous bloomers up high so I can appreciate them at eye level.

    P. besseae flavum "Green Gold"

This one also from Tom K at Fox Valley, first bloom. It has more vigor than another mature flavum in my collection, "Pisgah Gold" but I also have a batch of seedlings from flask that are pretty vigorous. New Kid x Rob I think?

    Phrag. besseae ‘Carlisle’

Try some lower light, they've bloomed for me in fairly low light. I'm skeptical about my ability to grow them in a greenhouse setting. I grow them in my basement, 62-75° this time of year and a few degrees warmer in the summer. Rh ~60% I bought a flavum from a local greenhouse at the outset...

    Phrag. besseae ‘Carlisle’

Hi Abax - thanks! This plant grew itself - as far as besseae go. The flower is great but I've been enjoying the foliage for a year. Ya'll can probably relate but I'm very much taken by this plant's foliage. It is also the first double I've had hang on for any length of time, about 2 days. Just...

    Phrag. besseae ‘Carlisle’

No kidding. This is by far my favorite. I would never have known about the award - thanks. It is an incredibly vigorous and attractive plant.

How to make Paphiopedium bellatulum bloom?

The sun is far more intense for my plants this time of year. It is lower in the sky and shines much more brightly through the windows in early spring/ late fall. Add to that heating systems that decrease humidity, makes it easy to cook your plants. cheers

    Phragmipedium besseae flavum seedling

Nice work on the save, and the spike! Another vote for letting it flower, but only if you’ve sorted the heat issue. The best practice would be to cut but if you address the cultural issues I think it would be fine. A basement w LED lights would do it. The right conditions in my basement make me...

    Piping Rock sold!

Growing is one thing, then there's customer service and order fulfillment, which guys like Ray and Tom make look easy. Who knows how much appetite they'll have for retail eCommerce. If they're successful with some grow cycles, they'll have extra plants to deal with. So there's that. Lots of...

    P. bellatulum

Very nice! I have acquired some Bellatulum crosses recently, am now looking out for species! I love visiting that area, was convenient when living in Saigon. Mostly BKK and chiang Mai. The smoke is a challenge for me in springtime there, farmers burning. Oh and the police pulling me over on...

    Cyp. acaule in situ

Very nice, big pouch it seems. The patch in our adjacent forest is blooming now, various stages maturity. They seem to do well in pine forests like those there or even cutover pine. Western NC, 2400’ here. thanks for pic!

Ho Chi Minh (made with dunkel delenatii)

Very nice. I really like the foliage on this plant. The flowers on mine lasted a couple of week this time. The stem and bud are quite attractive as they’re developing.
