A primary by crossing malipoense and bellatulum.
Unfortunately the short (thank goodness it's not hanging down) spike from bellatulum is dominant.
Good thing is that I like the flower.
I was hoping a flower with even fine spotting as this one turned out to be, or one with very saturated dark petals, or subtle tessellation on the petals.
I guess that's pretty much the options from this hybrid but I've seen some ulgis with horrible streaks.

So, here, my first flowering seedling.
It has one more smaller bud at the back of this flower.
It is still opening up.

 
Lots of visual impact here. Strong contrast of a raspberry staminode framed by well shaped floral components. The well shaped and neat unspotted pouch contrasts nicely with the dense finely spotted lateral segments.

This is such a funny looking plant. A small plant but the flower is disproportionately large.

I want to buy some more.
