I had a nice walk this morning to a hill called 'Aarnescht' near Luxembourg-city known for hosting quite a lot of local orchid species. As I had my camera along, I just want to share with you some pictures (without exactly knowing the correct species name):

Orchis or Dactylorhiza species??:

Hi Jean,

Very impressive photos and it seems to be a really good and convenient thing to have these gemstone quasi in front of the front door. Thanks for sharing your photos.
Best regards from Germany, GuRu

Another wonderful walk! I really like the Ophrys. There is a new book about them too. Have you tried to grow them in your yard Jean?

not yet Ophrys species but quite some other genera, esp. Cyp. calceolus, and I had no chance with any of them!!
The only one growing happily in the grassy space just at my front door is a Cephalanthera species, no idea how it got there! ; here pict. of last year's bloom, because this year the slugs were quicker than I.!!
