Kewbooks is having a one-off sale (ends Jan 31). It is great deal for European people. Even though the shipping to the US is a bit steep, it is still a good deal (most of them are cheaper than the used price from Amazon).

There are a couple books interesting to slipper orchids. Cribb's Cypripedium is good. Hardy Cypripedium by Werner Frosch and Phillip Cribb is good for photos (and distribution map), but it doesn't have lots of info about the plants or biology (it contains small section of cultivation, but it wasn't so specific). Slipper Orchids of Vietnam by Averyanov et al. is one of my favorite Paph books (lots of habitat, biology info).

I ended up ordering 14 books...

How do they determine the cost for the shipping price to the US?
Do I need to place an order before I know the shipping?

Yeah, I would probably get yelled at by my wife... Some of the books seem to be getting rare, and they could become un-affordable once they become out-of-print. I wish they would reprint Cribb's Genus Paphiopedilum.

Chad, before the check out (before giving credit card info), they will tell you the shipping cost. So if you include the shipping cost to the US, it becomes about 30% off (instead of 50% off for European). The US dollar price is approximate because the exchange rate will influence the actual price.

Thanks Naoki. That is what I had thought. Work hasn't allowed much orchid stuff today. I will check them out.
If you own the Madagascar book (1st or 2nd Ed) what are your opinions on it?
