sphag and bag or electric propagater?

Oh no most certainly not. But I was thinking line the bottom of the tray with damp sphagnum, put the pots in the middle of the tray and put the lid on and open the vents half way. So moisture will definately be high and it'll have warmth. OR does the sphagnum need to be in contact with the...

sphag and bag or electric propagater?

Hiya, I have a small fairrieanum seedling and a small division of what I believe may be a hybrid of appletonianum (will have to double check the label). They're both in bark/charcoal/perlite, 75% humidity, around 18-20 celcius temps. They're both tiny and looking ill....they don't look...

Sshhh! I think it was the SlipperOrchidForum! oh and this spag and bag thing. So you put the whole thing in a bag with spag and seal it.....or just put some damp spag in a bag and have the bottom part of the plant dunked in it? Any good using an electric propagator with spag? Thanks...

Thanks! and sorry to hear about yours. Well the thing is I was told it would root either but it did, I thought if it's a gonner, there's no harm in experimenting and seeing if it works.

    Rootless paph division growing roots!

Hiya, a while ago I was repotting what I think is a paph Leeanum and a division broke off. Didn't know what to do so I stuck it back in the pot. It stayed alive but nothing happened with the roots for a while. I was told at another slipper forum that it wont produce roots as it has nothing to...

    Pale, Marked leaves on paph

Oh really? I mean with my Leeanum, each growth has 4 leaves. The piece that broke off is actually one of the growths that broke off at point of repotting as I was trying to pull off a piece of old leaf and the whole growth came away and i was like nooooooo! So i tried to tell myself nothing...

What are my plants telling me?

Depends really. The cacti at the moment as they're flowering like mad and they're pot bound so didn't want them to dry up. The medium is never drenched. perhaps that's the issue with the cacti? under watering while they're watering? The calamondin....that really depends on the weight of the...

What are my plants telling me?

Hiya, I'm not sure what this means really. My Easter Cacti have always lost a leaf segment or two every now and then since I've had them, but over the last month or so they've been aborting large sections of stems. I just come home to find 3 or 4 leaf segments on the floor. They are both in...

    Pale, Marked leaves on paph

Oh the moss isn't what I'm growing it in, it's just for decorative purposes on top of the medium. I've found that the medium dries out very very quickly if i have the surface open. Which is fine i guess for airating the medium, but I find it difficult to rehydrate. The tiny bit of moss on top...

    Pale, Marked leaves on paph

excellent. Ok. I mean I've read about several different fertilisers. One method of adding calc I've seen is adding crushed cuttlefish bone that you buy for parrots. 2 Of my paphs have this in the medium. I've also read about worm tea and it's benefits, but i guess that's a very general...
