    Phrag. Jason Fischer ‘Cub Hill’

Seems like it would be a lot of work to put those in pots. Save yourself the effort and just send the tray to me. :)

    Phragmipedium Yelva Myhre

Very nicely grown. Mine is growing pretty well but you're doing better with yours. Great job.

    Red Phrags

I know Woodstream has an amazing Rosalie Dixler that has an FCC/AOS. I bet they have a good Barbara Leann too.

Phragmipedium Don Wimber 'Big Al' 4N

I've seen a lot of good Don Wimbers. That is a great one. I don't think I've ever seen one as good. Superbly grown as well.

    Phrag. Growing Medium?

Thanks for the informative post Ray! I have a few questions if you don't mind: How well does Hydroton work for you? How does CYCO Hydro Clay compare to the original PrimeAgra you used to sell? That is still the gold standard for me. Where did the original PrimeAgra come from? Thanks!

I can finally grow my stonei in big clumps

I would say "mission accomplished" is an understatement. Great job. What is your growing medium?

    Phrag. Growing Medium?

Hi, For 20+ years I've grown phrags very well in LECA and semi-hydro (S/H) culture. Now though, getting good quality LECA seems impossible. The previous brand I used, Hydrofarm's Grow!t, has changed to a junk source to save a penny or two a bag and I can't find any of the old product...

Where have all the Phrag. Jason Fischers gone?

Did it have a clonal name? Awarded?

Where have all the Phrag. Jason Fischers gone?

Hi Ray - I think it mainly the S/H culture. I can't remember who taught me about that? :P I think besseae and its hybrid do well in S/H. That's how I grow all mine. As far as lighting, I use LED grow lights in my basement (no sunlight available) to give them a little less than cattleya...

    Phragmipedium Windsor Castle

That is a beauty. I'm really surprised to see the keiki-like leaves on the spike. Never seen anything like that. What are the leaves doing now?

Where have all the Phrag. Jason Fischers gone?

Yes it is four on one spike.

Where have all the Phrag. Jason Fischers gone?

Here's a Jason Fischer that bloomed recently for me. I miss seeing them offered for sale as well. It does seem like everything has gravitated toward kovachii, which make great hybrids, but there's just something about hybrids like Jason Fischer and Fox Valley Fireball. Fireball is my favorite...

Phrag Hanne Popow flavum x manzurii

Yay besse.. eh, I mean manzurii hybrids! :p

    New kovachii cross

Nice job growing it. Great looking flower.

    Bessae

My opinion is still that the pouch looks like there's influence of another species.

    Bessae

Very pretty flower. To me, the pouch looks like it has some influence from another species, maybe schlimii or something similar? It looks a little too round where I'd expect it to be a bit more elongated. Very nice though.
