    Vacation Watering

    Thanks for all the suggestions. Right now I am considering hooking up my RO system to a timer with a tube going to each orchid. It will be in a sink away from sunlight so a grow light may be in order. Work in progress.

    What do you all do for watering when you are away for extended times? I am planning a once in a life time family vacation that will last about 4 weeks. But I water every week and anything beyond that concerns me.

    Leaves falling off

    Thanks for the help. This was weird. Like the plant version of covid. It was fine last Monday when I watered everything, less than a week later all the leaves fell off. It's like it went down hours after a saw the first leaf drop and the last leaf drop.

    Would like to give some photos, but now I just have a stump. All leaves are gone and I still do not know what it was for sure. I removed it from the other plants in case it is diseased.

    They are falling from the base. There is new growth in the center. It could be rot but does not look like any crown rot I have seen before, it's a yellowing.

    Well in the world of orchids is as Roseanna, Roseannadana would say; "it's always something" My one Phap. started dropping leaves.     Mealy Bugs!

    hey all, Time for an update. After the alcohol wipe, I sprayed with insecticidal soap and hit the soil with Naturalyte Insect Control. It's been almost 3 weeks and no sign of either mealies or spider mites. I still need to be vigilant but I may have won this round without collateral damage.
